## Summary

Buckinghamshire Council has awarded a contract for the Adult Social Care Prevention Service, designed to support residents across Buckinghamshire through early intervention, thereby enhancing health and wellbeing and reducing future demands on social care. The procurement, managed as an open procedure, concluded with Age Concern Buckinghamshire (known as Age UK Buckinghamshire) being awarded the contract on 2nd March 2026, and it will run until 1st March 2029, with an option to extend up to 2031. The service focuses on reducing social isolation and promoting independence amongst residents aged 65 and over. This initiative operates within six Integrated Neighbourhood Team areas, implementing a person-centred approach that encompasses physical, mental, emotional, and social wellbeing, aiming to prevent crises and reduce the need for statutory care. The total contract value amounts to £2,697,458.30.

This procurement provides considerable opportunities for organisations involved in social care services, particularly those with expertise in delivering community-focused interventions that enhance social connectedness and independence. Businesses with a focus on innovative health and wellbeing solutions geared towards the elderly are well-positioned to engage with such public contracts, ensuring long-term growth by aligning with public sector goals of crisis prevention and reduction of statutory care reliance. Companies experienced in holistic and qualitative service delivery will find this an advantageous platform for expansion within the public health sector.

## Notice

Buckinghamshire Council is looking to commission an Adult Social Care Prevention Service for residents of Buckinghamshire that supports the transformation of Adult Social Care through early intervention to improve health and wellbeing, reducing future demand on social care and health care services. The service will address the root causes of poor health and wellbeing at an early stage, working in partnership with a number of services available in Buckinghamshire to reduce the need for crisis intervention and statutory care. The service will have a particular focus on building social connectedness, as part of its broader holistic prevention offer. The Service will provide a cost-effective, high-quality offer that enhances social connectedness, reduces social isolation, and increases overall wellbeing, health and independence for individuals aged 65 and over in the community. This will be achieved through short-term interventions, alongside delivering impartial information, advice, and guidance on community-based resources, and promoting independence and healthy living. The Service will operate within the six Integrated Neighbourhood Team (INT) areas, maintaining a visible and active presence in the local community and will adopt a holistic, person-centred approach to prevention, addressing physical, mental, emotional, and social wellbeing. By focusing on individual strengths and needs, the Service will empower long-term health, help prevent illness, and enable individuals to live independently.
