## Summary

The London Borough of Hillingdon has concluded a procurement process for the provision of Deprivation of Liberties Services, including Independent Best Interests Assessors and Section 12-approved doctor assessments, under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). The procurement process followed an open procedure and reached the award stage on 6 January 2026. The procurement resulted in a contract being awarded to REED Specialist Recruitment Limited for a total possible duration of six years, commencing 1 April 2026, with a total contract value estimated at £3.996 million over the full term. This project falls within the health and social work services category and will be delivered within the UKI74 region, specifically in Uxbridge, London.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in health and social services sectors. Successful bidders can expand their portfolios and build lasting relationships with sub-central government bodies. Larger companies with capabilities to provide specialised assessments under legal frameworks will find this procurement particularly appealing. Additionally, although the successful supplier in this case is a large enterprise, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) were encouraged to participate, highlighting future openings for diverse competitors within similar tenders issued by the borough.
