## Summary

Transport for London (TfL) is planning a procurement process titled "Provision of High Voltage (HV) Cable Maintenance and Fault Repair Services." This opportunity falls under the utilities sector, specifically involving works related to power distribution cables. The location for these services includes various sites within the London Underground network and related infrastructure in the United Kingdom. Currently, at the planning stage, the procurement process will follow a selective method with a competitive flexible procedure, aiming to secure a contract that starts on 15th December 2025 and potentially runs until 14th December 2030, with options to extend up to 14th December 2032. Prospective parties should prepare for the tender period ending on 31st October 2025, and the following award period ending on 20th November 2025.

This tender presents several growth opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in construction, maintenance, and engineering services related to railways and highway infrastructure. Companies with expertise in power distribution, electrical and mechanical equipment installation, and those that can provide both planned and reactive maintenance services are well-suited to compete for this contract. The selective procurement process also indicates that TfL seeks a reliable and experienced contractor capable of managing significant components of London's HV power infrastructure. Engaging in this procurement could position a company as a key partner in a long-term public sector framework, enhancing its reputation and experience in the utilities domain.

## Notice

London Underground operates and maintains a High Voltage (HV) Power Distribution Network, which includes multiple bulk supply in take points that distribute HV power to substations and distribution points through HV cables. These cables, which are 11kV and 22kV, are installed across the London Underground rail, public highways, and Network Rail Infrastructure. The existing network consists of cables over 80 years old, ranging from single and three-core Paper insulated Lead cables to Polymeric cables, with sizes varying from 70mm2 to 630mm2. In addition to managing HV cables, the HV Cables department also manages the control cables within the power estate, including both copper Pilot and Fibre Optic cables. To effectively manage fault repairs and maintain both HV and Pilot networks, the HV Cables department requires the ongoing support of a specialist contractor. This contractor will play a key role in assisting with power upgrades through project works. This aims to secure a commercial partnership with a specialised contractor who possesses the expertise and experience necessary to support both planned and reactive maintenance for the London Underground HV infrastructure. The services will cover maintenance, repair, fault finding, project support services and purchasing of cables to be installed.
