## Summary

The Mining Remediation Authority is in the planning stage for a tender titled "Framework Contract for the Provision of Engineering Services," set to commence in June 2026. It is targeted towards public authority central government in the United Kingdom, specifically focusing on areas affected by past mining activities. Market engagement sessions are planned for stakeholders to discuss the new framework, which will potentially introduce new lots and suppliers. Interested parties should contact Natalie Earnshaw at the Authority, with these sessions scheduled for completion by 31 August 2025 deadline. The procurement process will be subject to a separate advertisement, with a contract notice expected in June 2026.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in engineering and consultancy services, particularly those with expertise in civil, structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineering associated with mining remediation. The framework will cover numerous regions in the UK, offering substantial growth potential for firms capable of managing diverse mining-related responsibilities. SMEs may find suitability in competing for the various lots, particularly those focusing on niche areas such as hydrology or hydrogeology, alongside more conventional engineering services. Engaging in the upcoming market sessions could offer strategic insights for businesses aiming to enhance their proposal submissions once the contract goes to tender.
