## Summary

Wolverhampton City Council is in the planning stage of a public procurement process titled "Digital Solution for Children Unable to Attend School" (ID: CWC25092MW). This initiative seeks to explore the potential for a digital solution that supports remote learning for pupils unable to attend classes in person, leveraging live stream technology. The procurement falls under the category of goods, specifically focusing on software packages and information systems related to education and communications. The preliminary market engagement exercise aims to gather input from suppliers, with responses due by 12 midday on 13th June 2025. This engagement is geared towards understanding available options that fulfil the statutory educational obligations under the UK Education Act of 1996 for children unable to attend school due to various reasons.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the software, educational technology, and communication sectors to grow and expand their market presence. Companies specialising in developing networking, internet solutions, and multimedia software that can provide innovative educational tools may find this tender particularly advantageous. The opportunity to engage in the forthcoming procurement exercises will not only enable suppliers to potentially secure a substantial contract with a public authority but also promote technological advancements in educational accessibility. Businesses equipped to deliver state-of-the-art digital solutions that facilitate remote learning experiences for pupils will be well-positioned to compete in this market.

## Notice

Wolverhampton City Council are conducting a Preliminary Market Engagement Exercise to seek input from potential suppliers for a Digital Solution for Children Unable to Attend School. The Council has a statutory duty under the Education Act (1996), to arrange suitable education for children and young people who cannot attend school due to illness, exclusion or other reasons. To meet this obligation a range of options are put in place to provide schools with an alternative approach to ensure consistent learning and support for pupils to reintegrate back into the classroom. One such option is a digital (robot) solution that will provide access to education from within the classroom for pupils who cannot access educational settings, using live stream technology. The aim is to enable selected pupils to stay connected with their teachers and friends, allowing them to participate in regular lessons remotely. Additionally, it supports children who can attend school but face challenges in attending lessons regularly. The Council would like potential suppliers who can provide this type of solution to take part in our Preliminary Market Engagement so the Council can fully understand what options are available.
