## Summary

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency in the United Kingdom has initiated the planning stage for a procurement process titled "Radio Network Managed Service." This procurement falls under the services category and aims to enhance the monitoring of VHF & MF radio transmissions from vessels at sea to improve safety and prevent loss of life. The opportunity is classified under technical support services. The procurement is planned to start around 6th July 2030 and end by 5th July 2040. Located in Southampton, the agency will handle this vital task from its multiple operational centres around the UK, with the main coordination from the National Maritime Operations Centre in Fareham. The procurement is conducted with a gross value of £24 million, clear evidence of a well-thought-out plan adhering to legal standards such as the 2023/54 UKPGA regulation. Interested parties should look forward to the anticipated communication notice by 5th January 2030.

This planned procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in technical support services, telecommunications, or maritime solutions. Companies with expertise in managing extensive radio networks or providing robust technical services in support contexts will find this opportunity particularly appealing. With the procurement encompassing numerous remote radio sites spread along the UK coastline, businesses that offer innovative solutions to enhance maritime communication systems can leverage their products and services to secure this contract. The size and scope of the contract suggest it is well-suited for established enterprises looking to expand their footprint in central government procurements while contributing to maritime safety and innovation.
