## Summary

Exeter City Council is currently in the tender stage for the "Exeter MRF Plant Upgrade" project, a significant investment aimed at enhancing sustainable waste management in Exeter. The initiative focuses on the design, supply, and installation of a new Materials Recycling Facility processing line, intended to handle 10,500 tonnes of recyclable materials annually. Located at Exeter's Exton Road depot, the project aligns with the North West urban region (UKK43) and primarily falls under the categories of goods related to mechanical installations and engineering design services. The procurement employs a competitive flexible procedure with expression of interest due by 24th June 2026, and the subsequent contract award anticipated by 14th October 2026.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in mechanical equipment installations, engineering design, and waste management solutions. It particularly suits small and medium enterprises (SMEs) poised to leverage their expertise in creating state-of-the-art recycling facilities. Participation in this project would not only allow businesses to expand their portfolios in the public sector but also to align with Exeter City Council's goals of promoting cost-effective, efficient recycling facilities. There is potential for continuous engagement, as the authority may opt to extend the project with an optional maintenance contract post-warranty, further ensuring long-term collaborations with successful bidders.
