## Summary

The Science Museum Group, a central government public authority, recently conducted a procurement process for the creation of up to seven interactive exhibits for the "Horrible Sciences Exhibition". This open competition, below the threshold, was aimed at acquiring services within the museum sector. The location for this procurement is primarily focused in the United Kingdom, specifically involving exhibits at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester and later at the Science Museum in London. This tender took place with a closing date for submissions on 4th July 2025, and the contracting period started on 9th September 2025 to span until 30th January 2028. The award was confirmed to AIVAF LIMITED on 9th September 2025, marking the transition from the tender to the award stage.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth in businesses focusing on interactive exhibit creation and museum services. Companies with expertise in designing experiential and educational exhibits, particularly those suited for engaging diverse audiences such as adults, families, and school groups, would find potential in this project. The successful bidder, likely to be a developer of large-scale interactive installations, benefits from increased visibility and the ability to showcase innovation in a leading cultural and educational institution. Such opportunities are well-suited for businesses that can deliver imaginative, playful, and educational museum experiences, aligning with the objectives of curating an engaging environment for visitors in prestigious museum settings.

The exhibition will be curated by SMG, working closely with Lion TV, the BBC and Scholastic. It is scheduled to open at the Science and Industry Museum (SIM), Manchester in February 2026 and will then tour to the Science Museum (ScM), London in March 2027.
