## Summary

The planning process for an Integrated Healthy Lifestyle Service is currently underway, led by Reading Borough Council in collaboration with West Berkshire Council. The procurement seeks to improve health services such as weight management, physical activity, and stop smoking services across the regions in the United Kingdom, specifically targeting the localities around Reading and West Berkshire. Providers are invited to engage and express interest by 30th June 2025. The outcome will inform options to improve health outcomes and support economic growth. This planning phase aims to gather insights from the market to aid in the decision-making process. The contract is estimated at £5.3m, covering services above the procurement threshold, with the service likely to commence on 1st October 2026 for a duration of five years, extendable up to 2033.

This tender process offers a substantial opportunity for businesses in the health services sector to expand their operations and influence community health. Companies specialising in community health services, particularly in areas such as weight management and smoking cessation, could leverage this tender to drive business growth. Organisations providing innovative solutions that contribute to reducing health inequalities and improve workforce productivity would be particularly well-suited for this contract. The procurement method is collaborative, with Reading Borough Council leading the joint commissioning, thus favouring entities familiar with multi-council service provision. This service model also broadens prospects for businesses ready to engage in strategic partnerships and explore novel approaches to well-being services.
