Services should help to improve people's quality of life support independence and, if possible, prevent a person's needs from escalating. Provide support to compliment the support of the networks of families, friends, neighbours, and carers who all contribute to those who need care and support. The aim is to enable people living with dementia, who need care and support during the day to live as independently as possible whilst enjoying meaningful activities based on their skills, interests, wishes, and needs and which promote their mental and physical wellbeing. Focus on empowering people and supporting them to stay connected to and feel part of their communities, help to keep people well, and delay or reduce the need for more intensive interventions.
