## Summary

Westminster City Council has concluded a procurement process for designing and installing nature-based solutions and playground equipment at the Avenue Gardens Estate in London. The tender, titled "Designing Nature Based Solutions and Supply and Installation of Playground for Avenue Gardens Estate", falls under the works industry category and utilised an open competition procurement method. The procurement was below the financial threshold, with a total estimated tender cost ranging from £385,000 to £550,000 excluding VAT, contingent on the council's decision to implement additional elements. The awarded contract, dated 17 November 2025 and managed by Groundwork London, spans until 30 June 2026. Key stages in the procurement included site visits planned in June 2025, with final inspections scheduled for March 2026 before public access begins later that month.

This tender offers notable opportunities for businesses specialising in climate-adaptive design and playground construction, particularly those experienced in innovative environmental solutions such as rainwater management and sustainable urban planning. With the council encouraging submissions from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and organizations focused on social value, companies with a strong track record and solid financial standing are well-positioned to compete. The procurement process assessed bidders across two phases, emphasizing technical and commercial capabilities, thereby favouring experienced firms that can meet the quality standards and deliver sustainable infrastructure matching Westminster’s vision for future-proofed public spaces.
