## Summary

NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board is engaged in a procurement process for a mental health service focusing on hospital engagement work, specifically addressing dual diagnosis to help individuals reduce excessive alcohol or drug consumption. Categorised under health services, the initiative is being conducted within the UKD4 region. The procurement process has reached the award stage, with a contract awarded on 1st July 2025, starting from 1st April 2025 until 31st March 2026, valued at £108,545. This contract was established through a direct award process under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Regulations 2023, which does not engage the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 or the Procurement Act 2023.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in healthcare and mental health services to partner with public health authorities to tackle issues of substance abuse and dual diagnosis. The organisation awarded the contract is The Wells Communities C.I.C., indicating an openness to collaboration with small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Companies with expertise in health service provision, particularly those capable of delivering innovative solutions, improving access, and reducing health inequalities, might find similar opportunities promising. As the procurement method bypassed a call for competition, businesses already satisfying similar contracts could leverage prior relationships and performance to secure future opportunities under similar direct award procedures.
