## Summary

The LHC, acting as a joint committee for the Scottish Procurement Alliance, is conducting the "Public Buildings Construction and Infrastructure" procurement process. This framework has been designed to meet a wide array of construction needs across Scotland, categorised under construction work (CPV 45000000), spanning various public and social infrastructure projects such as schools, healthcare, emergency services, and more. Managed from Livingston, the framework commenced on 01 October 2021 and has seen a recent amendment extending its completion to 30 April 2026 due to operational challenges. This stage is currently in the 'Award' phase, with several contractors including Bancon Construction Limited and Robertson Construction Group Limited actively engaged, reflecting a significant investment of GBP 750 million.

This procurement presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses within the construction and infrastructure sectors, particularly those capable of delivering wide-ranging public projects. SMEs and larger firms alike can benefit, especially those specialising in educational, healthcare, and community infrastructure projects. By participating, contractors can expand their portfolios and leverage the long-term nature of the framework to secure regional and potentially nationwide contracts. Furthermore, the framework encourages creating socio-economic benefits, such as employment opportunities and subcontracting possibilities, thus offering additional avenues for businesses to engage meaningfully in local communities and enhance their market presence across Scotland.
