## Summary

The procurement process initiated by Aston University, a public authority under the sub-central government, focuses on waste management services across multiple lots, including core and supplementary waste collections. Located in Birmingham, United Kingdom, the university completed its procurement process on 4th June 2026, transitioning from the tender stage to the award stage. The tender, awarded to Veolia ES (UK) Limited, a large-scale supplier headquartered in London, is categorised under refuse and waste-related services. Key dates include the contract start on 1st September 2026, with an end date of 31st August 2028, and options for renewal extending up to July 2031. The procurement method used was an open and competitive flexible procedure with a framework agreement in place, ensuring the ability to manage future acquisitions or changes efficiently.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for growth, particularly for businesses operating in waste management and related services. Companies with capabilities in handling diverse waste streams, from general waste to hazardous materials, will find this contract beneficial. SMEs with expertise in waste processing, recycling, and sustainable disposal methods stand to compete effectively, given the structured procurement process focusing on quality and price.
