## Summary

The procurement process has resulted in an award to provide a support package for an identified patient, organised by the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This urgent requirement was managed through direct procurement to address the immediate need for specialised support for an individual during their transition from a psychiatric ward to the community. The awarded contract, valued at approximately £550,000, spans from 24 June 2025 to 31 March 2026, focusing on community health services in Chester, United Kingdom. The procurement was conducted under the urgent circumstances provision of the Public Services Reform (PSR), with key stages completed, including the future signature date scheduled for 24 June 2025.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses, particularly those specialising in community health services and mental health care. Cavalry Healthcare Ltd, a small to medium-sized enterprise, effectively secured the contract, indicating that SMEs with expertise in delivering tailored health support services may find similar opportunities within urgent procurement contexts. The direct procurement approach bypasses competition, suggesting a preference for firms that can rapidly mobilise resources to meet emergent needs. Businesses capable of providing continuity of care, especially for autistic individuals, could leverage this pathway to secure growth within the public sector healthcare market.
