## Summary

The procurement process for the "iRefer Radiology guidelines access" was managed by the Business Services Organisation Procurement and Logistics Service, located in Belfast. With a contract ID of DAC20152, this direct award procedure falls under the service category and pertains to IT services, specifically focusing on consulting, software development, Internet, and support. The tender process is now complete with the award issued on 25th July 2025. The contract is active, started on the same date, and will run for one year with the possibility of a one-year extension, reaching up to £40,000 in value. This procurement ensures continued access to the latest iRefer Radiology guidelines provided by The Royal College of Radiologists and affects regions within the UK, including Northern Ireland.

This procurement offers substantial business growth opportunities, particularly for organisations involved in IT services and healthcare support. The direct award approach indicates a specialised need that required a unique solution only available from The Royal College of Radiologists, due to ownership of intellectual property rights. Businesses with a focus on healthcare technology and existing relationships in the UK healthcare sector might find similar tenders advantageous, especially if they can provide niche software solutions or consultancy services that incorporate evidence-based clinical guidelines and decision-making tools. This contract also exemplifies steady demand in the healthcare industry for IT solutions integrated with clinical expertise, opening avenues for future collaborations and innovations.

## Notice

The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) have produced guidelines to help GPs, Radiographers, Clinicians and other healthcare professionals to determine the most appropriate imaging investigation(s) or intervention for patients for a wide range of clinical problems. They provide practical guidance based on the best available evidence together with expert opinion where evidence is lacking or conflicting. The guidance provided within iRefer ensures patients have timely and accurate diagnoses through informed decision making about the requesting of imaging and interventional services. The seventh edition of iRefer58 making the best use of clinical radiology was made available through licensing arrangements via e-Learning for Healthcare on the N3 network to all NHS professionals working in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The seventh edition of iRefer is no longer available via this route. The eighth edition was launched in May 27. Access via HSCNI has been available since July 28 and now requires renewal. This would be for a period of one year, with potential 1 year extension up to a contract value of PS40,000
