A single supplier will be awarded the contract under Lot 1. The work involved within Lot 2 - A2 will involve highway surfacing, including Hot Rolled Asphalt, Close Graded Asphalt Concrete, and other specialist asphalts as necessary, to base, binder, and surface levels, and proprietary processes including ironwork adjustment, re-application of carriageway markings, and all associated traffic and pedestrian management. A single supplier will be awarded the contract under Lot 2. Tenderers can submit a tender response for one or both Lots.

Wirral Borough Council (the "Council") has issued this Preliminary Market Engagement Notice to raise awareness of forthcoming contract opportunities for the delivery of Highways Surfacing Type Works (the" Contracts") and to give interested parties the option to participate in a Soft Market Testing (SMT) exercise (the "Exercise").
The Council provides regular reactive and planned highways works along with other highway infrastructure works. The contracts the Council is seeking to procure, cover all aspects of major footway and surfacing schemes, along with preventative treatments.
