## Summary

The contract for "Public Buildings and Infrastructure," initiated by LHC for the Welsh Procurement Alliance (WPA), involves construction work related to public and social infrastructure across the United Kingdom. Key components of this framework include new construction, extensions, and refurbishment of various public facilities such as educational, healthcare, emergency service buildings, and more. This procurement process, classified under CPV codes related to construction and civil engineering work, is in the Award stage and will last until 30 April 2026, with significant involvement from major construction companies like Kier Construction Ltd, Morgan Sindall, and others. The framework commenced on 1 October 2021 and has been extended due to strategic reprioritisation and operational challenges.

This tender represents a substantial opportunity for businesses in the construction industry, particularly those specialising in public infrastructure projects. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), alongside large construction firms, are well-positioned to leverage this framework, especially those focusing on sub-contracting, supply chain development, and fulfilling community benefits such as employment and training for specific groups. The involvement of organisations across England, Wales, and Scotland broadens potential engagement, allowing businesses experienced in regional projects to gain a foothold in expansive public sector works. The framework is designed to accommodate a range of construction categories, making it a vibrant opportunity for diverse business growth and development.
