## Notice

The Council owns and operates (inhouse) four waste transfer stations (WTS) at Whetstone, Loughborough, Kibworth and Bardon and 13 Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS) across the County. The Council's vision for waste management is set out in the Leicestershire Resources and Waste Strategy (LRS). A new residual waste analysis is required to understand the composition of residual kerbside collected waste across Leicestershire County. The data will be used to support strategic and procurement objectives. It is intended that the work programme will be designed to provide a representative snapshot in time of the different waste streams of interest.

Lot 1

Options: There is an additional optional extra requirement as outlined at the bottom of appendix J which requests the tenderer to further sub categorise food waste into the following three categories: 'avoidable', 'possibly avoidable' and 'unavoidable'. Please note that the price for this extra optional work is not evaluated and must be provided separately as per the table in appendix B 'pricing schedule'. In brief the purpose of this is to better inform the council of food waste to support the upcoming food waste collection service, and potential opportunities for food waste reduction campaigns. The Council may choose not to use this optional extra, but this would be required to be completed alongside the main body of work should this be taken forward.

Renewal: Extension may be granted to allow further time to complete the service in the event that the suppliers site access is restricted by the Council for operational reasons.
