## Summary

Ashford and St Peters Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has directly awarded a contract for clinical services involving Skin Analytics Ltd, focusing on screening and triage for skin cancer using AI technology. The procurement process, aligned under the Procurement Act 2023 due to technical reasons, represents a direct award without competitive tenders due to the unique offering of a CE marked Class III Medical Device. Located in Ashford, United Kingdom, the award date was 14 August 2025, with the contract commencing on 5 September 2025 and running until 31 August 2027, alongside a potential renewal for an additional year, reaching into 2028. The contract is centred within the medical and health services category and involves a gross contract value of £597,690, with a net amount of £498,075.

This procurement process presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses specialising in AI-driven medical solutions, particularly in dermatological and medical analysis services. The unique technology offered by Skin Analytics Ltd, with its AI autonomous screening device, opens the door for innovative SMEs to leverage their specialised software offerings within the healthcare sector. With a focused industry category and a high-value award, suppliers of medical software and analytical services, especially those able to work within the region of UKJ25, can benefit from similar opportunities to provide leading-edge solutions, enhancing technological advancements and healthcare quality. The utilisation of AI in healthcare provides a platform for innovative companies to demonstrate their expertise and potentially expand their footprint in a growing market niche.

## Notice

2025 ENQ20250513 Notices for the contract called Skin Analytics Clinical Services Agreement involving the screening and triage of lesions suspicious for skin cancer with an AI autonomous Medical Device involved for both urgent and routine pathways but no supplier staffing provided for the screening and triage. Optional extra at additional cost would involve Supplier Dermatologist review of cases but this is not part of the core service. The contract is being directly awarded under Procurement Act 2023. PLEASE BE AWARE that owing to the constraints of the Contract Award Notice template we have been obliged to state that the number of tenders submitted was 1, the number of tenders assessed was 1 and the number of tenders from SMEs was 1. This is not strictly correct as in the direct award scenario we have described no tenders were or would be invited so no tenders would be received and the offer from the SME supplier to be directly awarded would not be understood to be a tender. Please read the Contract Award Notice accordingly. PLEASE NOTE: A Transparency Notice regarding this was published on 14 July 2025. This is the Contract Award notice which will commence the eight working days mandatory standstill To view this notice, please click here: https://www.delta-esourcing.com/delta/viewNotice.html?noticeId=972826719

### Procurement Information

There is no other supplier of an artificial intelligence software as a service which is Class III CE marked AI as a Medical Device for skin cancer. Thus the direct award is justified under Procurement Act 2023 because there is a single supplier for technical reasons.
