## Summary

NHS South West London Integrated Care Board has completed an urgent procurement process for a neuropsychiatry inpatient placement for a patient with acquired brain injury. This contract, valued at £326,648.92, was awarded to St Andrew's Healthcare under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, bypassing the standard competitive process due to urgent circumstances. This specific procurement, classified under psychiatric hospital services, lasted from 1st May 2025 to 30th April 2026. The procurement followed a limited method due to its exemption from the Procurement Act Regulations and was intended to address immediate safety and care quality risks in the UKI region.

This tender presents an opportunity for large healthcare providers with specialist neuropsychiatric and acquired brain injury facilities to position themselves as key suppliers in urgent healthcare service contracts. The process serves as an example of how adeptly navigating provider selection regulations can benefit organisations with the flexibility and capabilities to meet highly specific and pressing healthcare needs. Additionally, public health bodies can benefit from establishing robust partnerships with specialist providers to ensure readiness for future urgent procurement needs.
