## Summary

The Chief Constable for Devon and Cornwall Police, on behalf of multiple police forces, including Avon & Somerset, Dorset, Gloucestershire, and Wiltshire, is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for the supply, service, and maintenance of fire extinguishers. This procurement process is being managed by the South West Police Procurement Service (SWPPS) and is currently at the pre-market engagement stage, with a deadline for engagement responses set for 6th August 2025. The contract, slated to begin on 1st July 2026, falls under the services category and covers regions in the UK with specific industry classifications related to fire equipment. The anticipated formal tender process is expected to commence in November 2025.

This tender represents a substantial opportunity for businesses involved in the supply and maintenance of fire safety equipment to engage directly with public sector organisations. Given the scope and duration of the contract, it would be particularly suitable for businesses with capabilities in providing comprehensive fire safety solutions, including the installation and maintenance of fire extinguishers and related firefighting equipment. Companies that are adept at engaging with public authorities and have experience in fulfilling large-scale government contracts should consider participating in the early market engagement to shape future specifications and procurement strategies. The aim is for fair and transparent procurement, offering an excellent opportunity for growth and partnership in a long-term public sector service.
