## Summary

Norse Commercial Services Ltd, in conjunction with Alliance Norse Ltd, has completed the contracting process for the "Nutrient Mitigation Scheme" in the River Wye catchment area, part of the Peak District Dales. This initiative addresses environmental concerns related to nutrient levels, primarily phosphates and nitrates, in the region. The procurement, initiated as an open competition and classified under works, resulted in an award to WCI Group Ltd. The project involves several activities, including sewage treatment plant construction work, consultancy services, and environmental management, with an overall contract value of £2,136,645. Work began on April 1, 2026, with completion aimed for November 23, 2026, across locations including UKF12 and UKF13.

This contract provides substantial business growth opportunities, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in environmental management and construction. Companies with expertise in designing and installing wastewater treatment systems, as well as those skilled in environmental consultancy, can benefit greatly from this type of project. The process allowed for three bids, highlighting a competitive environment where businesses that deliver innovative solutions in line with the councils' mitigation strategies could thrive. The focus on achieving significant nutrient reductions and compliance with regulatory standards underscores the potential for companies that can consistently deliver and enhance their technical offerings in sustainable practices.
