## Summary

The NHS Dorset Integrated Care Board has completed the procurement process for the provision of a Community Weight Management Service in Dorset. This tender, with a focus on community health services, aimed at serving individuals aged 18 and over registered with a Dorset GP who meet specific criteria. The procurement was conducted via an open procedure, spanning several UK regions including UKC, UKD, UKE, UKF, UKG, UKH, UKI, UKJ, and UKK. The procurement process has advanced from tender to the award stage, with contracts signed on 10 October 2025, totalling £4.5 million each for two suppliers, Modality LLP and Mid Dorset Primary Healthcare Limited.

For businesses interested in opportunities within the health services sector, this procurement process highlights the substantial market potential in community health service delivery. Offering face-to-face, group, or digital appointments, suppliers are expected to provide services that significantly enhance physical and mental well-being outcomes. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with capabilities in health service delivery and a focus on cost-effectiveness that align with the tender's award criteria—70% for technical and quality standards, 10% for social value, and 20% for pricing—would be well-suited to compete. This initiative offers significant growth potential within the healthcare sector, especially for those with expertise in managing weight loss programmes and related services.
