## Summary

The National Museum of the Royal Navy, a public authority under central government, initiated a procurement process for the "Appointment of Guidebook Publisher 2025 (Second Issue)." The contracting authority is based in Portsmouth, United Kingdom, and is seeking a supplier to produce and print its souvenir guidebooks over a five-year period starting in September 2025. The procurement process was initially active, with a tender stage involving an open competition method below the threshold. The tender was open for submissions electronically until 18th August 2025. However, a tender cancellation notice was later issued on 29th January 2026, stating the procurement was withdrawn to reassess the approach, coinciding with a new corporate strategy and brand implications for the museum.

This tender offers significant business growth opportunities for organisations capable of design and printing, specifically in the printed matter and related product sector. Ideal candidates would be SMEs with expertise in producing high-quality guidebooks aligned with branding strategies, as these publications would enhance visitor experience and support commercial revenue through both physical sales and digital platforms. Participation in this procurement process could facilitate a long-term partnership with a prominent national institution, potentially opening avenues for future collaborations and exposure across multiple NMRN sites. Although this specific opportunity was cancelled, businesses involved have the advantage of preparing for forthcoming tenders as the museum reassesses its procurement plans, aligning with its evolving brand strategy.
