## Summary

Colchester City Council has awarded the contract for the Exhibition Design Consultancy Services to Pringle Richards Sharratt Ltd - GuM Studio. This project, identified by the code "0455 - PA," involves comprehensive exhibition design services from RIBA Stage 1 through to RIBA Stage 6/7 alongside a detailed design for fit-out contractors, incorporating the museum’s redevelopment including the enlargement of its footprint. The council is a sub-central government public authority based in Colchester, United Kingdom. The procurement process followed an open procedure and culminated with the award notice dated 3rd December 2025, after the tender active period ending on 18th August 2025. Key project milestones include the appointment in September 2025 and completion by April 2026, with potential extension contingent on the acquisition of National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) round two funding.

This tender represents significant growth opportunities for businesses with expertise in exhibition and architectural design for museum projects, particularly those experienced in NLHF-funded initiatives. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) may find this opportunity especially compelling given the specific focus on design consultancy services and the outlined project milestones. The tender welcomes firms that can collaborate effectively with wider design teams to coordinate and support museum redevelopment initiatives. Given the procurement process's open nature, businesses that provide development consultancy and have a comprehensive portfolio of comparator projects are well-suited to compete for future work under similar contracts. Interested companies should prepare to showcase adherence to project specifications, technical approach, resource allocation, environmental sustainability, and pricing strategies as part of their bid submission. The engagement of SMEs underscores the inclusive nature of the process, aligning procurement activities with industry growth prospects.
