## Summary

The procurement process for the Asset Management System conducted by the Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive, trading as Nexus, has reached the award stage. Located in Newcastle upon Tyne, this public undertaking sought a robust, modern solution to replace their current asset management system through a direct award method. The process follows the unsuccessful attempts to source a provider via competitive tendering, as outlined by the Procurement Act 2023. The awarded contract, valued at £1,824,127.20, is scheduled to commence on 13th July 2026, with an end date of 30th April 2032, and may extend until 2035. This contract falls under the industry category for software package and information systems, targeting the region UKC in the United Kingdom.

This procurement offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in asset management systems, particularly those able to deliver a solution meeting Nexus' requirements for efficiency and data accuracy. While the current award was made to IFS Ultimo LTD, larger corporations or SMEs with innovative software solutions and strong technical capabilities might find future opportunities in similar tenders with Nexus or other public sector undertakings. The tender process highlighted the essential need for services that can adapt to sophisticated asset management demands, particularly in the public transportation sector.
