## Summary

The NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has completed a procurement process for local enhanced pharmacy services in Rotherham. This contract, titled "NHS SY ICB - Rotherham Place - Pharmacy Local Enhanced Services," has been awarded to Fastmeds Pharma Ltd T/A FastMeds Delivery Pharmacy. Operating under the Provider Selection Regime Regulations 2023, the contract pertains to pharmacy services within the healthcare services category, utilising a limited procurement method outside the standard directive scope. The procurement decision was confirmed without a prior call for competition and the contract period will run from 1 April 2025, with its value dependent on patient activity.

This procurement offers significant growth opportunities for pharmacies aligned with the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework, as such collaborations are essential due to the interdependence between local enhanced services and existing frameworks. Ideal candidates are pharmacies capable of managing and delivering these interlinked services, with an ability to respond to patient activity levels. Businesses in the healthcare services sector, particularly small to medium-sized enterprises, can benefit substantially by capitalising on the consistent demand for integrated pharmacy solutions in the region.

## Notice

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (pharmacy) is because they are required to hold a contract via the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the (CPCF) contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount. For this reason not every Pharmacy delivers every LCS.
