## Summary

The North Yorkshire Council has awarded a contract titled "Community Mental Health Services" aimed at delivering adult community-based mental health support in Scarborough. Categorised under miscellaneous health services, this procurement falls within the services industry category and operates under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The contract commenced on 1st October 2025 and can potentially extend until 30th September 2029. The initial contract period spans two years with options to extend for two additional one-year terms. The procurement method operated via a direct award without a prior call for competition, reflecting compliance with specific regulatory frameworks rather than the broader Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

This contract offers a considerable opportunity for businesses, particularly those focused on providing health services, to expand their impact in the Scarborough area by offering community-based mental health support. Companies specialising in innovative health service delivery, with a capacity to integrate and collaborate within community settings, will find this contract aligns well with their expertise. The primary service provider, Scarborough Survivors, reflects the opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to engage with regional authorities. The focus on improving access, reducing health inequalities, and facilitating choice emphasizes quality and social value, key areas where innovative SMEs can compete effectively to win further contracts under similar regimes.
