## Summary

The public procurement process led by The City of Edinburgh Council, on behalf of the Lothian Pension Fund, involved a contract for Bloomberg proprietary ICT hardware and software services. This procurement, classified under information technology services, was crucial for accessing real-time financial market data and enhancing investment management for the pension fund. The contract was awarded without previous publication, attributable to its critical and specialised nature, and was completed in a limited procedure. The key dates include the contract signed on 2nd September 2025 with a value of USD 1,251,520, for deployment in the UKM75 region, Edinburgh.

This procurement presents significant growth opportunities for businesses supplying advanced ICT solutions, particularly those with expertise in financial markets and electronic trading platforms. Companies in sectors such as financial software services and data analytics are well-positioned to provide similar comprehensive and integrated solutions that enhance financial services' efficiency and transparency. Engaging in such contracts can bolster a firm's reputation in providing essential infrastructural support to critical financial services sectors. The specialised demand and limited viable alternatives, as demonstrated in this award to Bloomberg LP, indicate a stable and impactful market segment for innovation and service excellence.
