## Summary

The procurement process involves Stoke on Trent City Council seeking the supply and maintenance of static surveillance cameras. This project is located across the United Kingdom and falls under the industry categories of security, fire-fighting, police, and defence equipment, as well as installation services excluding software, with the tag indicating both an award and a contract. Significant dates include the scheduled future signature date on 12th August 2025 and the contract period starting on 18th August 2025 and ending on 17th August 2029. The procurement method employed is a direct award due to technical reasons related to software and system compatibility.

This tender presents a valuable growth opportunity for businesses focusing on surveillance equipment and installation services, particularly those configured for compatibility with existing software solutions, such as TES Review. Companies that specialise in hosted solutions and can offer seamless integration with third-party systems will be well-suited to compete for this contract. The procurement is classified as suitable for SMEs, indicating opportunities for a wide range of small and medium-sized enterprises to engage with Stoke on Trent City Council and potentially expand their operations through this contract.

## Notice

BSIP funding will be utilised for the supply and installation of static surveillance cameras. The cameras will be installed on additional red routes along key bus corridors in order to alleviate the problem of indiscriminate parking. Integration into existing software requires compatibility with third party hosted software (TES Review) which is linked directly to the cameras.

### Procurement Information

Integration into existing software requires compatibility with third party hosted software (TES Review) which is linked directly to the cameras. Evidence packages encrypted within the cameras is then uploaded to hosted software (TES Review) and then uploaded to Taranto software for penalty processing. TES Review is only compatible with TES cameras for direct uploads, therefore without system compatibility decryption and encryption software would have to be installed on SOTCC servers so that encrypted evidence packages can be sent for third party review. If SOTCC were to purchase the suppliers own review software, the team would need to operate 2 or more software packages, driving up costs and inefficiencies into delivery of the service. Taranto have confirmed they do not currently carry compatibility with any other camera provider. As hosted solutions are the preferred choice of SOTCC, we would look to avoid any option that would require the use of our internal servers
