## Summary

The procurement process for the "Most Suitable Provider (MSP) NEL Intensive Community Support Service" was completed by the East London NHS Foundation Trust. This tender, classified under health services, focuses on providing therapeutic support to children and young people (CYP) and their families. The procurement aimed at reducing preventable and unhelpful admissions to hospital services, enhancing community-based care, and addressing issues related to social care placements. The contract has been awarded to The London Borough of Camden, which is set to deliver health services within the UKI42 region as of 30th July 2025. The procurement method employed was "limited," signifying an award procedure without prior publication due to reasons beyond the scope of the directive.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health and social care services, particularly those equipped to provide intensive community support and therapeutic interventions. Companies familiar with working alongside the NHS and local government bodies or those experienced in handling high-cost social care placements could find avenues for substantial growth. Given the nature of the services and the contract value of £1,000,000, businesses that can offer innovative solutions to reduce hospital admissions and support foster carers effectively would be well-placed to compete in this specialised sector.

## Notice

The Intensive Community Support Service, will provide therapeutic support to CYP and families/carers in their homes. The aim is to enable them to receive personalised care in the community, closer to home, to reduce preventable and unhelpful admissions to CAMHS inpatient services and acute hospitals and reduce the number of delayed discharges within inpatient services. In addition, this service aims to reduce the need for children and young people to be accommodated in high-cost social care placements, social care placements that are far away from their local area and reducing the potential for multiple placement breakdowns.
The intensive service will also provide intensive consultation and support for foster carers and placement providers to develop responsive and therapeutic approaches to maintain and foster good placements where a child is no longer able to remain in the family home as well as preventing the subsequent breakdown of those placements, particular in the event of a reoccurring mental health presentation.
