## Summary

Durham County Council has awarded contracts for the provision of Domiciliary Care Services and Reablement across 10 Demand Zones. The procurement process followed an open procedure and aimed to identify primary providers committed to delivering high-quality services. These services are intended for vulnerable children, young people, and adults requiring care in line with national criteria set by the Care Act 2014. The award, announced on 16 March 2026, follows the tender phase initiated on 3 December 2025. The contract period begins on 1 April 2026 and may extend until 31 March 2033, depending on the approval by commissioners and budget availability.

Business growth opportunities exist for SMEs in the health and social work sector, specifically those capable of delivering quality care and reablement services. With a focus on achieving positive outcomes for service users and value-for-money, companies well-versed in managing care delivery, safeguarding, and partnership working are encouraged to participate. Providers in County Durham and surrounding regions can leverage this procurement to expand their services and impact local communities positively in demand zones specified in the tender documentation.
