## Summary

The procurement process, titled "Internet Breakout to Enforce Web Protection," has been conducted by the Civil Nuclear Police Authority based in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. This tender falls under the industry category of antivirus software and involves locations across the UK. It is currently at the award stage, with the contract period scheduled to start on 7th August 2025 and conclude on 30th November 2025. The procurement method employed is a direct award, justified by the need to maintain the current security services during a transition to a new network provider. The value of the award is £38,698.88 GBP, with GCI Network Solutions Limited serving as the supplier.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in cybersecurity solutions, particularly those offering services like antivirus software, web filtering, and intrusion protection. Large-scale suppliers with the capability to deliver comprehensive security solutions and support ongoing updates will find this contract particularly suited to their operations. The ongoing demand for enhanced cybersecurity during network transitions highlights a critical area for growth and engagement for tech providers looking to collaborate with central government agencies such as the Civil Nuclear Police Authority.

## Notice

Internet Breakout - To enforce web protection through antivirus, intrusion protection, web filtering and outbreak protection as well as enabling firmware and general updates for the FortiGate. This allows internet access for users to be appropriately protected from unwanted or malicious content.

### Procurement Information

CNC are transitioning to a new network provider under our FuNDS project. The need for the Internet Breakout in its current format will not be required when fully transitioned. However, it is crucial for CNC to retain the current services for those sites still to transition, to ensure we remain safe and secure. It is anticipated that the current service will be required for 6 months. Any tender process would prove to be time consuming, disruptive and not cost effective. If we do not continue with the service through Nasstar our network will be vulnerable to security threats. We will lose out on essential security features like intrusion prevention, web filtering and antivirus. We will also expose ourselves to newly discovered vulnerability because we won't have received firmware updates that are designed to detect and mitigate such things malware viruses and data breaches and unauthorised access to sensitive information and data etc.
