## Summary

The procurement process for the "T2654 Provision Of Dog Kennelling Facilities and Related Services" was conducted by Belfast City Council, a sub-central government authority located in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This contract involves the provision of dog kennelling facilities and related services to support the Council’s Dog Warden Service, ensuring the care, return, and rehoming of stray and other dogs, including those of illegal breeds. The procurement method applied was an open procedure, and the timeline for the contract extends from 5th January 2026 to 4th January 2029, with an optional one-year extension. This contract award was completed, with Nutts Corner Boarding Kennels, an SME based in Antrim, being selected as the supplier.

This tender provides opportunities for growth, particularly for businesses involved in pet care and animal welfare services. Ideal competitors would be SMEs proficient in providing comprehensive dog kennelling and veterinary services, ensuring humane care and high standards of animal welfare. Businesses with experience in collaborating with local governments and who operate within a reasonable logistic distance from Belfast would benefit from such contracts. Organisations engaging in social value initiatives would also find this contract appealing, as Belfast City Council clearly emphasises the integration of social value criteria in their procurement processes.
