## Summary

Manchester City Council is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for "Residential and Nursing Care for Adults - Care Home Services". The council is aiming to redesign care home services as part of its Achieving Better Outcomes Together programme, aligning with its 10-Year Care Home Strategy and the Our Manchester Strategy. A virtual market engagement session is scheduled for Tuesday, 26th August from 12pm to 2pm, offering potential providers the chance to participate in shaping the future of adult care home provision in Manchester. Interested parties should contact the Commissioning Manager, Gemma Williams, by 21st August 2025. The procurement category is services, with the expectation that the contract period will run from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2029, with possible extension to 2031.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for businesses involved in residential nursing care services to collaborate and innovate with a major public authority. Firms that can provide comprehensive care home services that are responsive, inclusive, and sustainable will be well-suited to compete in this tender. Manchester City Council encourages participation from organisations that can contribute valuable insights and solutions, helping to shape service specifications, key performance indicators, and quality assurance measures. Organisations registered as VCSEs (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises) may find this particularly advantageous, as the procurement process supports such entities. This engagement is part of the light touch regime, focusing on collaborative engagement and innovative contracting solutions.
