## Summary

The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS) led a direct procurement process for a collaboration agreement, titled "CEFAS25-59 Collaboration Agreement for Coastal Health Data Explorer (CoHDEx) Tool." The award, finalised on 14th August 2025, was part of a research and development effort aimed at enhancing the CoHDEx tool at a national level in England. This process, categorised under research services, involved the University of Exeter as the supplier and aimed to test and upscale the tool through various programme developments and exercises. The project contract began on 15th August 2025 and is scheduled to conclude by 31st March 2026. The procurement was conducted without competition, given its status as below the threshold. The principal location for this procurement is within the United Kingdom.

This opportunity presents substantial potential for businesses engaged in research services, specifically those with expertise in environmental sciences and data management. Companies involved in coastal health or related research and development sectors would benefit from engaging with initiatives like the CoHDEx tool to enhance their expertise and visibility. The collaboration, although completed, provides insights into industry demands and could highlight growth avenues for similar large-scale projects, particularly for organisations capable of partnering with public bodies like CEFAS. Participation in such programmes could lead to increased business through direct engagement with government and academia, as well as contributing to meaningful research impacting environmental health.
