## Summary

The Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is currently in the planning stage for re-procuring and enhancing its pathology services, focusing specifically on haematology, immunology, and transfusion managed services. The procurement exercise involves engaging with potential suppliers through a market engagement process, which is set to conclude with submissions by 17 September 2025. This initiative is located in Gloucester, United Kingdom, under the healthcare and laboratory services industries. As a preliminary step for a possible future tender, this market engagement allows suppliers to contribute input that will shape future specifications of the procurement process. The contracting authority is working towards a start date for the potential contract period on 12 July 2027, extending up to 11 July 2041, including renewal options.

This opportunity is significant for businesses involved in laboratory services, diagnostic equipment and supplies, and facility upgrades, particularly those within the SME and VCSE sectors. Companies specialising in medical diagnostics, laboratory equipment installation, and software management services could see substantial growth opportunities. As the procurement aims for a comprehensive transformation of the pathology services, businesses offering innovative solutions, equipment modernisation, and efficiency improvements stand ready to benefit. Suppliers engaging in this phase can provide valuable feedback that might give them a competitive advantage in the eventual procurement process, helping the Trust achieve its goal of delivering a high-quality, adaptable pathology service that supports their healthcare mission.

Important Notes: * This notice is for information-gathering purposes only and does not signal the start of a formal procurement. * GHFT is under no obligation to proceed with a procurement following this exercise.
