## Summary

Leeds City Council has initiated a tender process titled "Reimagining Abbey House Museum," focused on the services sector with additional categories related to works. This project aims to redesign Abbey House Museum, enhancing its visitor experience for the next three decades. Situated in Leeds, United Kingdom, the procurement stage is currently active in the tender phase. Interested parties should note the enquiry period ends on 8th September 2025, with the tender submission deadline set for 15th September 2025. The procurement will be conducted via an open competition method, with a contract period from 1st October 2025 to 28th August 2026, and potential for renewal.

This tender presents significant business opportunities, particularly for companies specialising in museum services, design, and the preservation of historical sites. Businesses with expertise in research and development related to cultural services and historical preservation will find this offer particularly fitting. As the procurement method encourages competition, small and medium enterprises are well-suited to participate, given the procurement's open and below-threshold nature. The involvement in such a high-profile project can offer substantial growth and visibility for successful bidders within the cultural sectors.

## Notice

Leeds Museums & Galleries are seeking to work with a company/agency to redesign Abbey House Museum and it's future. It's almost 30 years since the museum last had major investment and we're looking to reimagine what the visitor experience could be for the next 30 years. In November 2024, facing severe financial pressures within Leeds City Council, there was a proposal to close Abbey House Museum to the public as part of measures to save PS160,000. In February 2025, elected members decided not to take the proposal forward after a huge show of public support. The service are now looking at what Abbey House Museum's future could look like and where we can make improvements to future proof the museum for the generations to come.
