## Summary

The Scottish Government is seeking an external service provider to supply Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniforms for the Marine Directorate staff aboard its protection and research vessels. This tender, titled "DMARINE - Marine Operations - Protection Vessels - PPE & Uniform Framework Agreement," falls under the industry category of protective and safety clothing. The procurement involves goods and is currently at the tender stage, with notable amendments extending the tender return deadline to 17:00 hours on 25 March 2026. The framework agreement is renewable, initially lasting 24 months with possible extensions, providing room for additional products during potential global crises. The location for delivery is the UKM region, specifically dealing with marine operations around Scotland.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses in the protective and safety clothing sector to engage in a substantial contract with the Scottish Government. It is particularly suited to enterprises that can meet the statutory requirements for Marine legislation, including providing suitable PPE and uniforms. The open procurement method favours businesses with robust production capabilities and adherence to specific financial standards, such as maintaining a solid Current Ratio and comprehensive insurance coverage. With community benefits highlighted as part of the evaluation process, companies with sustainable practices and a focus on climate emergency solutions may find a competitive edge. A single supplier framework could ensure consistent business growth with the potential for optional extensions, promoting long-term collaboration and resilience in the PPE and uniform market.
