## Summary

The Mining Remediation Authority, a central government public authority located in Nottinghamshire, has completed a contract for the "Mine Water Treatment Scheme (MWTS) - Panel Relocation". The process involved the relocation of solar panels at the Dawdon and Bates MWTS sites. This contract, part of the 'works' industry category focusing on solar and electrical installations, was awarded to AR Power, an SME based in Washington, with a contract value of £33,086. The direct procurement method was used, as the contract fell below the relevant financial threshold, making a streamlined approach appropriate. The award was finalised on 21st August 2025, with the contract scheduled from 1st October 2025 to 31st October 2025, and a possible extension to 30th January 2026, pending operational requirements.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses in the solar and electrical installations sector, particularly SMEs, by demonstrating a successful precedent for future public contracts requiring similar expertise. Given the preference for local SMEs and direct negotiation under specific thresholds, companies specialising in solar panel installation and maintenance could benefit from aligning their offerings with such government requirements. Engaging in this sector allows SMEs to build relationships with central government authorities, opening doors to further collaborative projects and reinforcing their market positions within the green technology and energy sectors.

## Notice

The Mining Remediation Authority have two Mine Water Treatment Scheme (MWTS) sites with solar PV installed that have missing or damaged solar panels. The sites are Dawdon MWTS and Bates MWTS. Both of these sites share the same 270w solar panels, in terms of manufacturer and model number. We would like to relocate missing panels from Dawdon MWTS with panels located at Bates MWTS. Sourcing rationale A total of four quotes were requested and three were received from local SMEs. A comparison matrix was compiled, assessing cost, capacity, and overall suitability to determine the best fit supplier. This approach was selected over a full tender process as the contract value falls below the relevant threshold, allowing a more proportionate and efficient procedure
