## Summary

The City of Doncaster Council is in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "Market Information and Engagement Event for the Provision of Housing Adaptations." This process falls under the construction and health services industries, with specific relevance to site preparation, building installation, and repair and maintenance services. The location for the procurement is the UK, with an anticipated contract period from April 2026 to March 2030, and a potential extension to March 2034. Important dates include a scheduled milestone for market engagement on 26th September 2025, and a future notice date on 5th January 2026. This procurement is classified as works with additional services and aims to establish a framework agreement, encompassing nine lots of varying adaptations and construction services for disabled facilities grants.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses, particularly SMEs and organisations classified as VCSEs, to expand by becoming part of a framework that addresses critical housing adaptation needs. The contract, with a gross value of £18,480,000, covers areas such as minor and major housing adaptations, accessibility features, and specialised installations like sensory rooms and lifts. Companies with expertise in construction, building installations, and health services can leverage this opportunity to grow their portfolio and enhance their service offerings. The planned framework allows for a fair and transparent process, ensuring equitable opportunities for businesses to participate and potentially gain long-term contracts within the public sector.

## Notice

The City of Doncaster Council is seeking to develop a framework of providers to support us to deliver our Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) housing adaptations. Adapting a home environment can help restore or enable independent living, privacy, confidence and dignity for individuals and their families. Home adaptations are changes made to the fabric and fixtures of a home to make it safer and easier to get around and to use for everyday tasks like cooking and bathing. Adaptations can include the installation of stair-lifts, level access showers and wet-rooms, wash and dry toilets, ramps, wider doors, and, in some instances, bespoke home extensions to existing dwellings as well as improvements to access to and from gardens. At this stage it is anticipated that the framework will consist of nine lots. Lot One - Minor Adaptations Extractors, moving sockets, moving heating controls etc. Lot Two - Kitchen Adaptations Kitchen redesign Lot Three - Bathroom Adaptations Bathroom redesign Lot Four - Housing Adaptations Changes to internal layout Lot Five - Extensions Accessible ground floor extensions Lot Six - Accessibility Adaptation Ramps, half steps, handrails, parking bays and driveways Lot Seven - Lifts and Hoists Stairlifts, through lifts, step lifts, hoists - supply, fit and maintenance. To maintain the principles of a fair, open and transparent process any questions asked during the event will be recorded with the replies and shared on our contract portal YORtender and issued with the tender documents.
