## Summary

The NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland ICB has awarded a contract for Vitreo-Retinal Surgery Services under the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime regulations 2023. The contract pertains to the industry category of health services and covers locations across Leicester City, Leicestershire County, and Rutland. The contract was awarded through a limited procurement method, specifically an award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition. The procurement stage is "Award", and the contract is set to be active until 31 March 2026. The service will provide comprehensive care including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up clinical assessment for various retinal conditions.

This procurement initiative opens up substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in ophthalmology services. Given its focus on high-quality, consultant-led care in local settings, companies with expertise in vitreo-retinal surgery and a multidisciplinary workforce will find this contract appealing. Large enterprises with established healthcare systems, like Community Health and Eyecare Ltd and New Medical Systems Limited T/A 'Newmedica', are well-suited to compete, as they can leverage their resources and experience to meet the service requirements. This contract can foster business growth by expanding service offerings and enhancing patient choice and care through proactive intervention and management of complications related to retinal disorders.
