## Summary

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust, initiated a procurement process for NHS dental services in Carmarthen under the Provider Selection Regime Wales Regulations 2025. This open procedure, focusing on dental-practice services, falls under the services category with CPV classification 85131000. The tender was active as of 5 September 2025, with a submission deadline of 3 October 2025. While the tender period has ended, it initially provided interested parties with the opportunity to submit electronic bids for a contract valued at £612,000 over a duration of approximately five years, with an option to extend for a further five years.

This procurement presents significant business opportunities for companies offering dental healthcare services, particularly those capable of delivering efficient and cost-effective NHS dental services. With an emphasis on reducing health inequalities and improving oral health as per Welsh Government reform goals, businesses equipped to provide comprehensive services aligned with these goals could markedly benefit. This includes entities capable of adopting a multidisciplinary approach within the contractual reform framework, aiming to boost dental service coverage and quality in the region. Strong contenders for this tender would be consortia or organisations with experience in the health sector, particularly those familiar with public sector contracts in Wales and capable of leveraging enhanced dental skills and training practices.
