## Summary

The Home Office has initiated a planning phase procurement process titled "Invitations of Applications - PAVA spray testing for Home Office Certification." This process invites suppliers to participate in a Request for Information (RFI) for the certification of PAVA spray devices, adhering to the Home Office standards for Police Chemical Irritant Sprays. The procurement is classified under the 'Laboratory services' industry category, with activities taking place in the United Kingdom. Key dates to consider include the RFI submission deadline on 7th October 2025, while the contract is scheduled to commence on 20th October 2025 and conclude by 20th October 2026. The procurement method is a market engagement notice, focusing on gathering information rather than awarding immediate contracts.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses that specialise in manufacturing or supplying chemical irritant devices, especially Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Voluntary Community and Social Enterprises (VCSEs). Companies that can provide technical expertise, ready-for-testing PAVA spray devices, and are prepared to undergo the Home Office certification process will find this an ideal opportunity to expand their market within the central government sector. Interested parties must register and submit their applications via the Home Office's Jaggaer eSourcing portal, ensuring compliance with the specified technical and documentation prerequisites.
