## Summary

Cardiff Metropolitan University is in the planning stage of a procurement process looking to implement a modern Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) solution. The process is outlined under the legal basis of the UK Public General Acts 2023/54 and is classified under the industry category of software development and business transaction packages. Located in Cardiff, UK, the university aims to enhance its payment handling options with this tender. Interested parties should note that the pre-market engagement phase will be conducted through the University’s 'In-Tend' portal, with submissions due by 3rd October 2025. A shortlist of up to five bidders will be invited to demonstrate their solutions to the university stakeholders.

The EPOS solution tender presents substantial growth opportunity for businesses specialising in software development, particularly those offering point-of-sale systems. Given the project involves goods with a contract period set to begin on 1st August 2026, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to participate, as the procurement is designed to accommodate their involvement. With a potential contract value reaching up to £108,000, the project offers a lucrative entry into the academic sector, making it ideal for businesses equipped to provide high-quality, customer-focused POS solutions adaptable to the diverse needs of a university environment.

## Notice
