## Summary

The NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board has awarded a contract titled "HWE Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service - EEAST" focused on the provision of non-emergency patient transport services within the health services industry. This tender process falls under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR), utilising the direct award process C, without the need for the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The contract has been awarded to the current provider with the intention to start on 1st October 2025, covering a period of one year with the option to extend up to 18 months. The contract value for 2025/26 is up to £13,024,800, with the extension bringing the maximum to £32,562,000. Located in the UKH23 region, the procurement is essential for safely transporting patients to healthcare facilities, while maintaining comfort and dignity, with the contract award being finalised on 25th September 2025 following approval by relevant committees.

This tender presents opportunities for businesses, particularly those with expertise in healthcare transport services, to engage with a stable market and expand services within the regional healthcare sector. Companies with experience in providing logistical healthcare solutions, especially those equipped to handle sensitive and safe patient transport with trained staff, are highly suitable to compete in this procurement. The lack of material changes to the existing contract implies consistency in service delivery, allowing businesses to consolidate their market position while accommodating possible extensions. The direct award approach affirms that businesses focused on maintaining quality service standards are valued, and continuing partnership with the NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board can foster potential growth and development in the healthcare logistics field.
