## Summary

Plymouth City Council has recently completed a procurement process for a "Temporary Bus Shelter Solution" project, involving the fabrication and installation of three temporary bus shelters using modified shipping containers. The procurement falls under the goods category and belongs to the industry classification for bus shelters. The project was directed by a public authority sub-central government entity, with the delivery locations planned across several UK regions including UKC, UKD, UKF, and others. The procurement was conducted using a direct method, described as below threshold without competition, and has already progressed through the completion stage. Significant dates include the signing of the contract on 10th February 2025, and its corresponding active period running from 12th February 2025 to 31st March 2026.

The award of this contract to Quality Component Engineering Ltd represents a substantial business growth opportunity for firms capable of producing custom-engineered solutions, particularly those experienced with modular construction and innovative designs. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with expertise in the modification and installation of shipping containers for non-traditional uses, like temporary shelters, are well-suited to compete in such tenders. By leveraging this opportunity, businesses can expand their portfolios and establish their capability to deliver customized structures, potentially opening doors for further public sector projects in the dynamic field of infrastructure development.
