## Summary

The Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC), located in London, has completed the tender process for two major contracts aimed at enhancing the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) framework in community drug and alcohol treatment services. The procurement, executed through an open procedure, includes technical support and accredited training for IPS providers from 2026 to 2029. The contracts, awarded to Social Finance Limited, focus on IPS fidelity reviews and the provision of at least 16 Level 3 IPS training places per year. These initiatives are intended to upskill staff across the UK, aiding in the professionalisation of service delivery. The initial contract period begins on 1st April 2026 and may extend until 31st March 2031 following successful business case reviews.

This procurement opens substantial avenues for business growth, particularly for SMEs focusing on specialist training services and health-related business support. Social Finance Limited's involvement sets a precedent for small and medium enterprises to engage in government contracts, especially those capable of delivering high-quality training and support in health services. Businesses in the sector can further explore similar opportunities by aligning their capabilities with government objectives to improve IPS performance and achieve high fidelity standards, thereby demonstrating value and effectiveness in public health initiatives. Such engagements are vital for achieving the benchmarks outlined in the UK Drug Strategy 2021 and expanding access to essential IPS services.

## Notice

The Supplier will provide training, either in person or virtually, to at least 16 members of staff of IPS providers delivering in community drug and alcohol treatment services.
