## Summary

The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is in the process of awarding a contract for community counselling services across Birmingham and Solihull localities. This procurement falls under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR), targeting third sector organisations. The previous intention to award notice highlighted the competitive process, specifically designed for counselling services and is scheduled to be effective from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2028. The authority has allocated an approximate lifetime value of £1,436,550.26 for the provision of services with an option to extend for two additional years. Representations by providers must be submitted by 23rd February, marking the closure of the standstill period subsequent to the notice publication.

This procurement presents a notable opportunity for third sector organisations and charities specialising in counselling services, as they are exclusively eligible to participate. With six distinct localities involved, bidders have the flexibility to apply for any number of lots, enhancing potential collaboration and business expansion across regions. This initiative not only aims to increase service accessibility but also seeks to address healthcare inequalities. Companies with expertise in community health, mental health services, and collaboration with local health bodies would find competing for this tender particularly advantageous. Given the procurement method is open and utilises electronic submissions via Atamis, businesses already engaging with NHS collaborations might be ideally positioned to capitalise on this opportunity for strategic growth.
